We wanted to say thank you to each person who came out and marched with us in support of Chelsea Manning at St. Pete Pride. We would like to especially thank the Tampa Light Brigade for bringing out the lights, which added such a special component to the contingent. We were awed by the beautiful people in our contingent and were honored to march with all of you.
We have been inspired by Chelsea (formerly Bradley) Manning and her courageous efforts to uncover and stop human rights abuses and atrocities in Iraq and Afghanistan. Actions which have led her to pay the ultimate price in years of imprisonment, of which has included solitary confinement. Her name and her story is one that every LGBTQ person should know.
