Because St. Pete for Peace is non-partisan and objective.  We as a group are not democrats, liberals, progressives or anarchists, but many of our colleagues do identify with those ideologies/groups. Some of those people need to be called out for their hateful, hypocritical and violent behavior since Donald Trump became president.

We believe in non-violent, peaceful protesting, and we are disappointed by those who have chosen non-peaceful methods to express their views.  We are seeking a country that is free of hatred and violence, not one that is vengeful, irrational and oppressive.  The anti-Trump, hyper-PC, "woke", cancel-culture left today is hypocritical and counter-productive.

And finally, free speech is something that St. Pete for Peace fought for during the Bush administration years.  Ironically, today it is the left who are suppressing open expression, and have decided that they alone can decide what can and can't be said. We believe this should be exposed.
